Where to start...all I really want to say about this picture is yummmy! but that isn't very sophisticated now is it??  I feel like I need to say something elevated and profound.  But honestly I just have a visceral response of....wow!!  This man and this moment are stunning.

Not Van Halen

A few summers ago a dated an amazing guy (of course!) whose house was like an art gallery.  Call me impressed.  Most men that I had ??? up until that point still had their walls covered in Van Halen posters.  Please don't judge...cause I know you know exactly what I'm talking about.  Anyhow...back on track...every painting had a story and inspired him in a different way.  I had always loved art and vowed at that moment to start collecting real pieces for myself.  At the Union Street festival this year I happened upon Hilary Williams.  She creates amazing mixed media pieces using different images and textures of the city closest to my heart...San Francisco.  I fell in love with Hilary's work and fell in love again with the city by the bay.

Photo shoot at Santa Monica Pier today.  I have always loved fairs and carnivals.  I love the food, the rides, the colors, the eclectic mix of people.  It was such a treat to spend the day "working" in that environment.

Ohhh!!!!  I love new shoes!!!  I do seem to have a love for black strappy numbers.  Found these pretty little things at Off Broadway Shoes on Sunset.  They are Guess...so SOOO on budget.  Took them out for a spin last night...first stop Library Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel then onto Playhouse.  Danced until the wee hours of the night.  Fun times had by all!

Love it!  So glad to see I'm not the only one out and about wearing my fabulous open toe shoes in the rain.  Thank you ma cherie geri!!

I have a blog

A journey of a thousand steps starts with the first step...er...or something like that.  

Here I go...my first step into the wild world of blogging.  I was told this week...  "I must have a blog!!"  Okay... so here is what goes through my brain..."really I must?!?  Aren't I a little late to the blogging party...let along the fashion blogging party??"  What can I Gillian Robin Christie add to the fashion blogging world??  

Yes...I am a little insecure about this new adventure.  There's Garance Dore and The Sartorialist and because i'm addicted ...even Perez has Coco Perez...what can I add???

Well....hmmm....er...


I didn't get into styling because of the paycheck or because fashion was a fledgling new industry...I started styling because I love it, it makes me happy and I'm good at it.  The same gets to be true for my blog...I will post my thoughts, ideas, frustrations, images and such that inspire me and if people follow...they follow.  If not...then I have a really cool site that inspires me and I get to be silly and creative in the process.

Sounds like a plan Stan!!
